Technically the markets remain weak and and more downsides are likely and a breach of previous lows with test of 10,000 is on the cards.Retracement levels indicate a strong support at 9700 |

If Nifty spot closes below 3225 , we may eventually see 2600. By breaking long term trend line at 3800 market has turned very weak. |

I think it is now a perfect situation building up as to who was right in predicting the market closest. Every next person is possibly the sooth sayer par exellance. My view to this situation is please look for what is the comfort level you have yourself in this situation. Identify your risk taking ability. From here on if you are comfortable with the 10%-20% downside then invest. Mind you sir all the damage which had to be done has already been done. But very important from here on is the right side what is your time horizon and what could be the reward (upside) in the time horizon. My view is if you have 3-5 years then the minimum expectation would be atleast 2-3 multiples of this risk that you are taking. |

my research says nifty will settle around 2780, from there it will be range bound till dec'08.
For investment purpose we can look forward to some bluechip stock in the field of banking and refinery industry. from here start putting 10% of capital.

Technical - Maximum fall - 61-62% from top ( 21200) - Panic Bottom - 8100-8200
Historically - Sensex has bottomed out after falling 56% from top (high level)
Fundamental -Sensex has bottomed out around PE of 10,if one takes current EPS of 950-- 9500 was Funamental bottom,but now that we have breached 9500,and nearing 8500,we are in final leg of selling -- in all like hood Panic bottom will be created around 8100-8200,which will also be a technical bottom,61.8% retracement from top(21200).
Market may form bottom anywhere b/w 8100-8500 |

Now the situation is becoming very interesting mmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!! i am waiting for Mr Genius who is trying to predict the market may come to 100 or below !!! i am waiting sic!!!!!! all the dooms day predictors. I have not found one real investor amongst the respondents who is looking for an opportunity in this adversity sic!!!.
I have not found a simple rational thinker amongst the participants who is thinking where the economy is headed for..... How recessions happen..... How long do recession last... and whats the opportunity lurking amidst all the chaos.
I am sorry to say if any one here in this forum is flashing a card of an Investment Consultant /Advisor Should throw all the cards into the dustbins because you have lost all the prespective of the very first lesson of investing let alone the question of advising and mentoring the people for long term thinking and investing for a time which could years away.
Frinds think of this "If I had all the money in in the world which was sufficient for me to survive today then I would be looking into the aspect of investing.The very fact that I would still earn and still Save and invest in the times to come I don't even know what would happen then. What am i worried about today. so why we are creating a din about now? doesn't make any sense."
Then why you and me are needed to be approached by the prospective clients then they can go directly to invest in the instruments that they would like to invest into. My prespective... think rational and do what is required to be done by you. All your comments will not result into even a single point upward or downward movement in the indices. |

I am expecting the maximum bottom of the market within this year end(31.12.2008). And I predict the bottom low of Nifty between 1800 - 1900 and sensex between 5200 - 5800. From the beginning of 2009 mkt never come to 2008 bottom low.:PREMNATH MB |

Sir,
Practically speaking the market needs a test around 5K as the statistics shows that the FI have aggresively moved into indian market somewhere at 5K levels, and the financial year ending for the european market is near. So their may be high withdrawals from indian market which will force the market to test the 5K levels....Which will continue may be till FEB end... Good Luck
