hi
stop loss is nothing but your risk taking ability so first decide how much risk u can take and then enter in any stock because now a days it is not possible to tell exact level of entry and exit due to volatality in the market so while taking any position decide your percentage profit and loss then enter and book the profit or loss at that level this will be the best stratergy in this perticular situation.

When ever anyone is buying a particular scripts and is referring to the technicals there are three very important numbers that are given A) Current market price (CMP), B) what upside you can see in the times to come(definitive) (Sell). C) The downside that you may have to see with (Stop loss). Your Buying decision will also be based on these figures.
With momentum stocks, these figures become very important because if you are not taking away the profits in time you would be stranded, and the same will hold in case of a down trend if you are not in time to sell and exit you may have to see more losses. So when you are trading you are allowed to maintain “triggers”, this means when ever the prices hit the upper and the lower limits the required trigger comes to play and you can safely exit from the particular scrip.

the answer for your query lies in technicals.i.e. CHARTS. This may vary from co. to co.depending on the patterns of the charts.

Risk taking ability is a general term.

someone who knows technicals(till now everyone spoke of technicals)goes through the charts and decides not only (remember) to buy first but sell first.

Markets are always good and offer us both opportunities. it depends on how fast we are able to switch over .that's BULL to BEAR and VICE-VERSA.

remember, reading and understanding charts is the crucial factor.
