The markets were dull today on both the fronts, volumes and volatility and pressure came from large cap stocks. Auto, healthcare and IT were the biggest losers today but midcap IT stocks seen some buying. The European markets are trading weak. The FTSE index is down by 55 points, DAX is down by 75 points and CAC index is down by 46 points. S&P CNX Nifty opened at 5582 and traded in narrow range for whole day.
