Well Mr.Sandeep- Financial Planning is to plan for the entire life the income he is earning today and the financial goals he sets for his life it varies from person to person the expenses for the month and the total expenses per annum plus savings in different avenues he selects in order to meet the commitments at different stages of life - youth, family, middle age and after retirement. Like Health check a person also has to go for Wealth check atleast twice in a year in order to check whether he is working towards his financial goal he sets.

Financial PLanning would also be planning for the future with the present status and also looking at the goals that you would like to achieve coupled with the period that you would like to acheive this goal. It would be different for different people and would involve personal interaction to talk, understand, plan and review.

Investors Please Listen
Yes! Times have changed.

I can understand Big Banks all over the world, Biggest of financial firms and brokers all doing Non sense and illogical things as their self-interest involved.

But problem here is why does this investor, whom we call retail buyers behave illogical and irrationally on investing his own hard earned money?

Hey you all INVESTOR be careful, don't be ignorant

Please Listen.

1. Don't trade with mutual funds (like buying and selling regularly)
It only helps building your brokers commission. And this way you hurt only your portfolio.

2. Think beyond RBI Bond, PPF & Bank FD
Yes, they give risk free 8% to 10% return, but what safe when it cannot guarantee your future purchasing power in terms with inflation. Then there are some investors who have read somewhere that.

in long term, equities give best return

So they jump and pump all in to direct equities without understanding risk and portfolio construction.

3. Don't try to time market.
Simple thing Investors don't understand, they think they can out smart market when, get it right chances are very very low. Systematic investment is best and hassle free and helps you make disciplined approach.

4. Following "UNCLE's" advice.
Don't follow what others are doing, go with your personalized approach. Every person has different risk appetite. Good financial planner can help you in long term investments.

5. Insurance is not investment
Many investor sees Insurance as Investment and forget the real benefit of Insurance. Investor buys ULIP's as insurance cum investment but what they actually get is peace of paper which hardly covers their risk and Investment which never match up with their expectation. Insurance is for risk cover don't mix it with your investment. Ask for Term Plans they are cheap and gives you ideal cover.

Friends
Financial Planning is the thing that need to be put in place before you start putting your money in any sort of investing. I am a proponent of financial planning and i do know the importance of the subject matter.
Just let me assure you a normal on the street soul does not even know the way things function in the world of finance and by reading a few articles in the dailies and net tend to assume that i am a know all soul in the whole world. but the sad fact is that you have not even touched the tip of the iceberg. the real fact is the 10% what you see in the top is far too small. the entire 90% at the bottom makes the entire difference.
moral of the story:
HOLD HANDS OF A FINANCIAL PLANNER FOR YOUR SOLUTIONS AND WALK THRU, HE IS YOUR TEACHER & GUIDE INTO THE WORLD OF FINANCE (ALIBET YOU REALLY FIND THE REAL ONE)
